Blind Jack Explorer Scout Unit, Harrogate & Nidderdale District

Boroughbridge & District Girl Guiding
Learn, have fun, meet new friends, try new things, belong to a group, and earn badges through these local Girl Guiding groups. Contact: Sandra Appleton for more information.
- Rainbows (5 – 7 years) | There are two rainbow units for ages 5 to 7 years in Boroughbridge that meet on Tuesday and Thursday respectively.
- Brownies (7 – 10 years) | There are two Boroughbridge Brownie units that meet on Mondays and Tuesdays and another Brownie unit that meets on Thursdays in Aldborough.
- Guides (10 – 14 years) | Boroughbridge Guides meet on Tuesdays. They may also go on camps and nights away.
Boroughbridge, Ripon & District Rangers (Girl Guiding Senior Section)
Rangers do a variety of activities in different locations and do not meet on a regular day. Open to 14 to 26 year olds, they do lots of challenging activities which may contribute to Duke of Edinburgh awards or Queens Guide the highest Guide award. Find out more at the Girl Guiding UK website.

Spitfire Explore Scout Unit, Ripon & District
The Spitfire ESU for Explorers (14 – 18 years) are held during term time on Tuesdays at 7.15 – 9.15 pm in Ripon, HG4 3AY.
Young Leaders (Scouts), Harrogate & Nidderdale District
The Young Leaders group meets weekly during term time in Harrogate. Open to ages 14 – 18 years.
Find Your Nearest Guides Group or Scout Troop Across North Yorkshire
From camping and hiking to crafts, games and badge challenges, uniformed youth groups help children grow in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment. The Scouts include Beavers (6-8 years), Cubs (8–10½ years), Scouts (10½–14 years) and Explorers (14–18 years). Girlguiding runs Rainbows (4–7 years), Brownies (7–10 years), Guides (10–14 years) and Rangers (14–18 years). Each group meets weekly during term time and is led by trained adult volunteers.
Many uniformed clubs in the Ripon and Boroughbridge area also welcome children with additional needs, and can make adjustments to ensure as many children as possible are included and supported. Whether your child loves the outdoors, wants to learn new skills, or simply make new friends, Scouts and Guides are a great place to start.
